About Jen…

“Hey Jen, the tracks sound incredible! Your parts are fantastic… Thank you so much for being such a pleasure to work with.  You were inspiring and exciting in all the right places”

Never more at home than when playing the double bass, Jen is an energetic and joyful player and an engaging performer. Her musical journey has taken in a wide range of genres and this experience, coupled with confidence and musical sensitivity, enables her to explore the wonders of this beautiful instrument – from wild pizzicato lines to the deep riches of the bass when played with the bow.

A truly versatile player and a thinking musician, she delivers solid grooves and bold statements, to insightful, intelligent lyrical playing, knowing when to step back and create space.

An experienced collaborator and recording artist, Jen loves the creative process and working with people to get the musical result they dream of. Whether it’s on stage or in the studio, her communicative style of playing and love of musical interaction makes her a fun player to have around!

In recent years Jen’s developed as a producer, leading the celebrated Songs of Separation project, a large-scale collaboration between some of England and Scotland’s brilliant women musicians.
